Dr. Emily O’Meara
Dr. Emily O’Meara, a native of southern Maine, joined The Center for Vision Development in 2011. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, earning a Bachelor of Science degree Magna Cum Laude in Biology, in 2004. She then studied at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO), earning her Doctor of Optometry degree, with honors, in 2008. While at PCO, Dr. O’Meara earned honors in her rotations in ocular disease, vision therapy, and pediatrics. She has undergone extensive post-graduate training in the areas of visual development and vision therapy. She has special interests in the areas of concussion management and infant visual care, and she is licensed to practice full scope optometry in the state of Maryland.
Dr. O’Meara lectures and provides seminars and workshops to parents and professional organizations about topics related to Infant Visual Care, Developmental Vision and Neuro-Vision Rehabilitative Therapy. She is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and the Optometric Extension Program Foundation. She participates in the national non-profit InfantSEE program, providing no-cost vision assessments to infants from 6-12 months of age.
In her free time Dr. O’Meara enjoys spending time with her husband and her two young sons.
